Moving Mies
Collection Satellite #1
Kaiser Wilhelm Museum

The first Collection Satellite in 2018 will take place in Krefeld’s urban space, documenting the one-year renovation of Mies van der Rohe’s Haus Lange and Haus Esters.

In the coming year, no exhibitions will be shown in either villa, as they will remain closed to visitors. In conjunction with the Collection Satellites, the photographer Volker Döhne will take an artistic look at each museum and transport these private buildings into the public space. His photographs will be shown over the course of the year as posters on advertising columns and billboards throughout Krefeld. The project, developed with the city marketing office, heralds the 2019 Bauhaus centenary.
