The Collection Satellite #9 takes the early joint work VERKAUFEN (1981) by the artists Jürgen Drescher (* 1955 in Karlsruhe, lives in Berlin) and Reinhard Mucha (*1950 in Düsseldorf, lives in Düsseldorf) as the starting point for an exhibition on artistic possibilities and forms of participation. The extraordinary installation VERKAUFEN, conceived as a bar, was donated to the Kunstmuseen Krefeld by Max Hetzler and Kasper König in 2022.
The artist Liora Epstein (*1991 Vilnius, Lithuania, lives in Düsseldorf and Berlin), who works at the interface of fashion, visual art and performance, responds to the work with a staging that can be activated and used. She has created a room-filling bar embedded in a multi-layered narrative as her 2023 graduation project at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and adapted and expanded it for the collection satellite at the KWM. The exhibition space thus becomes a place of social interaction.

Since 2018 the Kunstmuseen Krefeld’s Collection Satellite series invites artists from various disciplines to engage in an innovative dialogue with the museum’s collections, its history, and the architecture of its three buildings: the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Haus Lange, and Haus Esters.
