Art = Human
Joseph Beuys in Krefeld
Kaiser Wilhelm Museum

The Kaiser Wilhelm Museum is the only museum in North Rhine-Westphalia to own a site specific work ensemble by Joseph Beuys, which has been preserved in the same state as when the artist installed it himself during his own lifetime. To mark the beginning of the anniversary year Beuys 2021, the Kunstmuseen Krefeld are presenting, in addition to the permanently installed Beuys Rooms, an exhibition of further works and documents by the artist from the museum’s holdings, the focus of which is the lecture “Art = Human", which Beuys gave on the occasion of the acquisition of his key work Barraque D’Dull Odde and which he later declared to be an “action.”
