Mamma Andersson (*1962 Lulea, Sweden) is one of the most influential contemporary artists in Scandinavia. Her highly intense works are developed from a variety of sources. On the one hand the Swedish painter draws expressly on the Nordic tradition of 19th and 20th century landscape painting, and on the other she frequently uses photographic material, which may hail from daily newspaper, the world of theatre, or even from forensic investigations. And ultimately her own personal experiences always play a role.

The edition Gigs has been done specially for the exhibition Dog Days, which is on show at the Museum Haus Esters from 23 October 2011 till 5 February 2012.
