This edition of fifteen unique works has been done specially for the exhibition Sternenstaub. Ein gezeichneter Roman, which is on show at Museum Haus Lange from 23 October 2011 till 5 February 2012.

Sternenstaub. Ein gezeichneter Roman - Dust of Stars, A Drawn Novel - is the name of a monumental cycle of 524 pencil drawings produced by the internationally acclaimed artist Franz Erhard Walther (*1939 in Fulda) between 2007 and 2009. Using his memories, Walther unfurled a biographically-based tableau beginning in 1942 during the Second World War and ending in 1973 when the artist gained recognition for his reduced works based on processes and materials. Political, social and above all cultural events have been woven into the cycle along with the artist's own private and artistic developments.

Each individual sheet is laid out with one or two drawings and a section of handwritten text. For the edition, which has been specially developed for Kunstmuseen Krefeld, Franz Erhard Walther has taken fifteen motifs from the cycle (without the handwritten text) and drawn them anew, size 42 x 29.7 cm. In this way, every sheet in the edition is a unique artwork.
